
As Chief Investment Officer at McDowell Housing Partners, Brian Villa is responsible for leading both the finance and legal departments and collaborating with MHP’s principals and department leaders to advance the firm’s vision and operational strategies.
Prior to joining McDowell Housing Partners, Brian was the Chief Investment Officer of a Midwest-based affordable housing developer, where he oversaw the closing of transactions, managed the real estate portfolio, and interacted with financing partners. He previously served as General Counsel for a LIHTC syndicator, managing transaction closings, assisting departments with legal matters, and serving as secretary of the investment committee. Earlier in his career, he practiced in the corporate and real estate groups of a large regional law firm.
Brian holds a Juris Doctorate from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, an MBA from Indiana University Kelley School of Business, and a BS in Economics from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Business. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the ABA Affordable Housing Forum, the Association of Corporate Counsel, and currently serves on the board of the CREA Foundation.
